My kids know exactly how to use my weakness to their advantage. “Mom, do you want to have a cup of tea and watch an episode of Fixer Upper together?” I glance over at Jaden, who is looking at me with a well rehearsed, caring, yet concerned face. In fact I am almost convinced that he is offering this option as a means for me to relax and not an excuse for him to get screen time on a school night. My love for all things Fixer Upper is well known in my house. James can attest to that as he has had the task of installing shiplap more than once. Last year my middle son Graham wrote this on his Christmas list next to my name, “Something from the Fixer Upper aisle at Target.” So it should be no surprise that last Sunday, as I sat down for a brief moment and scrolled through the pages of Magnolia Journal (yes of course I have a subscription) that I was struck by an interview I read by Chip and Jo. Essentially the article focused on how their relationship has evolved over time. How through the years they have been together they realized how much stronger they can be working as partners, pulling for the same goal, rather than playing a battle of tug of war. When I read that article, it hit close to home for many reasons. More often than not I have thought the same thing as James and I have built a home, family and now business together. I am aware more than ever, that despite the obstacles we face, things feel much more feasible when we are working together as partners towards a common goal rather than battling from opposite ends.
As I think about the challenges we face each day, some large, some minute, I am reassured by the fact that we can take one obstacle away from our customers. Each day you may be presented with things that can get in the way of your goal towards living a healthy lifestyle. With the hectic paced life most of us lead, the challenge to eat clean, eat balanced and live well can be just that, a challenge. Why play tug of war with your health and well being? We can be there to help you reach your goals, rather than be another road block that pulls you in the opposite direction of where you want to be. Let Box Bistro be the partner you need, alongside you on your path, providing support and a strong foundation for a healthy life.
Cheers to finding the right partnership!
